Design

Only good things can be said about HP’s policy of making every HP laptop look absolutely fantastic. This one is no different, its exterior is fabulous. The black matte exterior and the bright gray matte base unit make an exceptional contrast, and give the laptop a very professional, very futuristic look. Sine this is quite a bug laptop, with a large screen, there was enough room on the keyboard to put a number pad on it, which is a very useful tool when entering numerical data. They keyboard itself is wide and easy to use. The mouse pad has also nice design, and it has curved corners, as does the whole notebook.

Performance

We can say for certain that the HP Pavilion G71-340US is one of the higher performance laptops from HP, and it is prepared to perform admirably under your hands. The Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 is a good processor, and it has 2.2 GHz of clock speed, which will make your notebook a fast one. An amazing 4 GB of DDR2 Random Access Memory will be given to you by default, but if you want to be extreme, the laptop can handle an astonishing 8 GB of it, although we see no reason you should buy that much RAM. The 5400 rpm Hard Disk Drive offers a huge, 320 GB storage space, which is enough for several movie collections and a lot of big files. Sadly the notebook doesn’t have a graphic processor, but the integrated Intel GMA 4500MHD graphics chip equipped with Dynamic Video Memory Technology 5.0 offers up to 1759.0 MB of shared video memory, which is a decent amount for good graphics. The huge 17.3 inch widescreen display has a great 1600 x 900 resolution depth, which is very good.

Overall

This is one of the very good high performance laptops from HP which really worth the investment.
