HP Compaq 2510P

The line doesn’t end, there are still more HP laptops we can introduce to you. HP is one of the oldest suppliers in the computer world, thus we have every reason to trust that it has the experience and knowledge to build quality laptops. Although HP is focusing its efforts on high end machines, we have come across of probably the lowest performance notebook from HP we have ever seen. Behold HP’s netbook option, the HP Compaq 2510P.

Design

Although the notebook itself is not a powerful one, it does bear HP’s signature in design. The exterior looks phenomenal. Its dimensions are very small compared to a normal laptop, thus we can conclude that it was intended as a netbook. The keyboard size is compact, but easy to get used to, and the touch pad is also acceptable for a netbook. The black color gives a finishing high tech touch to the machine, and the display shows good quality image.

Performance

Being a netbook, the HP Compaq 2510P’s first priority is not performance. Netbooks were created to be a helpful tool in business and student usage. They are small, very easy to bring along with you and to store in small places. To conserve battery life, this notebook has an Intel Core 2 Duo U7500 processor in it, which has 1.06 GHz of clock speed. It is not much, but for the purposes this netbook was created for it is enough. From the maximum supported 2 GB of Random Access Memory, you will get 1 GB by default. See if you really need the other 1 GB, it’s your decision whether to upgrade or not. The 60 GB Hard Disk Drives is a bit slow for our liking, uncharacteristically from HP a 4200 rpm hard drive was used in this notebook, which is the negative side of this small machine. Needless to say an integrated Intel GMA X3100  graphics chip with Dynamic Video Memory Technology 4.0 serves the graphical tasks in this machine, while the 12.1 inch widescreen display has a very impressive native 1280 x 800 resolution depth.

Overall

While it is not the best netbook we have seen, this unit deserves its place in HP’s ranks, it looks good and the overall performance impression is also good.
