What most of the people do not care about is the fact that a laptop in their desired price range suits them better in the ranks of the less popular brands. The Gateway laptops are not so spread out in the world, they are fewer in numbers, but better in price. Sometimes these notebooks can also surprise us. The next notebook is in the budget category and tries to offer what a specific type of user needs. Meet Gateway MX6027.

Design:

The design is an interesting category on this notebook. Almost all the budget laptops in the world have basic or less desirable designs. This notebook, despite being a rather weak machine has a quite nice exterior. One would put it after the first look in a better performance category. Even with the stylish exterior, this notebook has an affordable price. The nice light gray chassis mixed with some black elements, like the keyboard and its exterior make this notebook look pretty serious. It is an excellent choice for a businessman who is short on money, but still needs a laptop.

Performance:

We are sorry to say that Gateway MX6027 is quite low even in the budget category. It is powered by an Intel Celeron M 360 processor which operates at a low 1.4 GHz clock speed. We have rarely seen such a week CPU in a notebook, but surprisingly considering that it has only 256 MB of Random Access Memory in the default unit, it runs relatively smoothly. Of course if you want to improve its performance, you can buy the maximum supported amount of 1 GB RAM in it. This amount of RAM is not so expensive these days and it does miracles to notebooks like this. You will immediately notice the speed difference. The 60 GB storage space on the 4200 rpm Hard Disk Drive is just about the lower average in the budget category, it doesn’t show anything remarkable. The visuals are made possible by the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Shared video memory (UMA) graphics chip. The display is 15.4 inches wide, and it has a native 1280 x 800 resolution depth, which is again average.

Overall:

It has its pros and cons, but considering what’s in it, it has a really low price. It is worth considering as an option.11
