Gateway C-140

Gateway has a large list of notebooks which deserve the buyer’s attention. Gateway is one of the smaller notebook manufacturers, but it has released good notebooks nonetheless. As any other notebook manufacturer Gateway tried to build different type of notebooks to suit the needs of a large area of users. The next notebook is a good performance machine built for those who want a solid laptop for an acceptable price. Let’s review the Gateway C-140.

Design:

This notebook actually looks pretty impressive. The mono dark gray chassis does not ruin the overall image. The keyboard is small but easy to use, as is the relatively small touch pad. Despite its size the touch pad has an area dedicated for vertical scrolling. The display hinge is a single one, and it has a nice design, allowing you to rotate the display when you open it in different directions, which is a very cool feature.

Performance:

This is an area in which this notebook also shines. The performance can be varied after the preferences and the budget options of the buyer. The Gateway C-140 can have a wide range of Intel Core 2 Duo processors in it, which can have a clock speed from 1.5 GHz up to a very fast 2.4 GHz. At this point it is only the buyer who chooses what kind of notebook he/she wants. The maximum supported amount of Random Access Memory is 4 GB, but if you are a bit low on cash you can also choose it with 3 GB it is not that big of a difference.

An amazing new feature which you cannot find on many notebooks is the fingerprint reader. This feature replaces the old fashioned password login to a simple touch of you finger, which is really professional. An interesting choice is to have the default Intel GMA X3100 graphics chip, or you want to experience cool graphics with the ATI Radeon Mobility X2300 HD. The latter option is clearly for gaming. You can have a range of HDD’s in this machine varying from 250 to 320 GB of storage space. The 14 inch small screen has a native 1280 x 768 resolution depth which is a bit unique, but nice feature.11
